Summer Calligraphy for Children

8 - 18 year olds

August 13, 16, 20, 23, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Ruq'ah script is the last calligraphy invented at the Ottoman court, reaching its height in the 19th century. The simple, clear style of Ruq'ah script makes it ideal for students starting Arabic Calligraphy. In this 4-session programme, after an introduction to historical development of calligraphy, its tools, and materials students will begin writing single letters before progressing in later lessons to complete words and, finally, simple sentences.
