Find this object in the Iran & Central Asia 14th To 16th century Gallery on Floor 3

This Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) dish makes an interesting comparison piece with the Iranian dish on display to its right. For centuries Islamic ceramics were greatly influenced by wares from China, and the Iranian, celadon-glazed dish is one such example. This Chinese piece is incised with floral motifs, is dated, and bears the name of the owner, ‘Jan Bayg’.

China, dated 1051 AH / 1642 CE
