These two silk embroidered panels possibly come from a saddle cover. Lotuses, rosettes and simurghs decorate the two coloured silks and are framed with repeated symbols enclosed in gilt bands. Produced during the Mongol period, these panels show the transfer and influence of motifs that directly spread from China to Central Asia.
